Diaper changing might seem complicated at first. But with a little practice, you’ll find that keeping your baby clean and dry is easy.
Changing a diaper: getting started
Before you begin, you need to gather a few supplies:
A premium high absorbency baby diaper
Fasteners(if you use prefolded cloth diapers)
An eco-friendly wet wipes(for babies with sensitive) or cotton ball and a container of warm water
diaper ointment or petroleum jelly (for preventing and treating rashes)
a baby pads for placing under your baby
Step 1:Lay your baby down on their back and remove the used diaper. Wrap it up and stick the tapes down to seal the bundle. Toss the diaper in the diaper pail or set it aside to throw out later in the garbage can. Before you throwing the diaper to a garbage can, better using a biodegradable bag to wrapped it ,reduce the odors.
Step 2:Using the wet washcloth, cotton balls, or baby wipes, gently wipe your baby clean from the front to the back (never wipe from back to front, especially on girls, or you could spread bacteria that can cause urinary tract infections).Gently lift your baby’s legs by the ankles to get underneath. Don’t forget the creases in the thighs and buttocks. Once you’ve finished wiping, pat your baby dry with a clean washcloth and apply diaper ointment.
Step 3:Open the diaper and slide it under your baby while gently lifting your little one’s legs and feet. The back part with the adhesive strips should be about level with your baby’s bellybutton.
Step 4: Bring the front part of the diaper up between your baby’s legs and onto their belly.
Step 5: check the space between the leg and the diaper leakguard, make sure there is not wrinkle, not gap. Could use your finger lightly hook out the baby diaper leakguard.
After a diaper change: safety and washing
Never leave a baby unattended on a change table. Babies can roll off in seconds.
Once your baby is clean and dressed, put them somewhere safe, like in a bouncer or cot or on the floor. Then get rid of the dirty diaper and wash your hands.
You need to change baby diaper often. It’s useful to have a clean set ready to use while the dirty nappies are in the wash.
Once you have these basics down, you’ll be a diapering pro in no time!
